I’m Dee Broughton, an English language educator and materials designer, among other things. I started this site to share what I’ve learned through teaching English from the point of view of English as an international language.
Because my other major sites were related to my jobs with, first, University of Idaho, and second, the U.S. Department of State, I wasn’t free to monetize the sites (or to be quite as opinionated as I might, occasionally, want to be) so now that I’m working on my own for a while, I decided I needed a new site.
Ah but, we are never really totally free, are we? It turns out that, even though I’m a free agent on this site, I still need to be careful to meet FTC guidelines as well as the guidelines of any companies I’d like to advertise, so, here’s the legal mumbo jumbo that goes along with being “free.”
Dee Broughton is a “participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.”
Affiliate links work this way: when you follow a link to Amazon.com from ELT.International and you make a purchase, your purchase price is the same as shopping directly, but ELT.International receives a small percentage of that price from Amazon. A good deal for me. The same deal for you.
In other words, if I give it a good review, it’s because I think it’s good. If it’s bad, I’ll say so.
Other products and other legal stuff:
ELT.International intends to enter into affiliate relationships with other commercial partners, and, from time to time, may link to other products and services on the site. These products may not be reviewed, but any such links can be assumed to be affiliate links. Any product claim, statistic, quote, or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider of the product. This blog does not contain any content which might present a conflict of interest.
